Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter, Navya Nanda, lashes out at Uttarakhand CM, Tirath Singh Rawat, for ‘women wearing ripped jeans’ remark | Bollywood Life

Uttarakhand CM, Tirath Singh Rawat, has been garnering criticism for his remark on women wearing ripped jeans on social media. While speaking at a workshop organised by the Uttarakhand State Commission for Protection of Child Rights in Dehradun on Tuesday, he said, “Showing bare knees by wearing ripped jeans just to look like rich kids is the value given now which is just a race towards westernisation when the Western world today is following us. Ripped jeans pave the way for societal breakdown and is a bad example parents set for children.” Also Read – Navya Naveli Nanda has the prettiest smile on the planet, and here’s proof – view pics

Now, megastar Amitabh Bachchan‘s daughter Navya Nanda has lashed out at the politician for his remark as she shared pics of her wearing a ripped jeans and wrote on insta-story, “Change your mentality before changing our clothes because the only thing shocking here is the message comments like this send to society.” Tirath Singh Rawat described in detail about the attire of a woman with whom he travelled in a flight and asked, “She was wearing boots, jeans ripped on the knees, and several bracelets. She had two children travelling with her. Her husband is a professor in JNU. You run an NGO, wear jeans ripped at the knees, move about in society, children are with you, what values you will teach?” Also Read – Chehre trailer preview: 5 reasons the Amitabh Bachchan-Emraan Hashmi starrer looks like a nail-biting thriller

Navya earlier gave a befitting reply to trolls, who asked what her mother Shweta Bachchan do for living and she replied, “Being a mother and a wife is a full-time job. Please don’t discredit women who are homemakers. Their role is so crucial in the upbringing of a generation that will hopefully support their contribution instead of tearing it down.” Big B’s granddaughter graduated from Fordham University last year, with a major in digital technology and UX design.
