Bindi Irwin, Steve Irwin’s baby girl and a renowned Australian wildlife conservationist, is now all grown up and ready to have a baby of her own. Prior to giving birth to her child with hubby Chandler Powell, the TV presenter and nature lover revealed what she and her husband are contemplating on naming their daughter (it’s legal to determine the sex of the baby prior to birth in Australia), and no surprises for guessing that it’s something closely linked to nature and their ancestry.
In an interview with The Bump, Bindi Irwin said, “We are waiting to meet her before we decide on a name. We want to hold her and make sure the name that we choose fits her perfectly. We’ve been drawing inspiration from hers and Chandler’s ancestry when it comes to what to name our little wildlife warrior princess. We have been looking through family history on both my side and Chandler’s side for family name inspiration. Once she arrives, I think we’ll know exactly what to name her.”
Opening up on the unique nickname she has for her kid, Bindi Irwin added, “My dad was the first person to create the term ‘Wildlife Warrior’. Being a Wildlife Warrior means to stand up and speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. We’ve been referring to our daughter as our Baby Wildlife Warrior. I know in my heart that she will forge her own path to make our planet a better place.”
All the best for a smooth birth, Bindi and Chandler.
