Jimmy Shergill and 35 others booked in Punjab for shooting and violating COVID-19 rules | Bollywood Life



Jimmy Shergill and National award-winning director Eeshwar Nivas were among 35 booked for flouting Covid-19 lockdown rules while shooting in Punjab’s Ludhiana, police said on Wednesday. They were shooting for the web series Your Honor, a remake of an Israeli web show, in a private school without permission and following COVID-19 appropriate behaviour. Nivas, along with two others, was arrested but later granted bail.

A case has been registered under Sections 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) and 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 3 of the Epidemic Diseases Act.

In a past interview, the actor had opened up about directing. “Direction is something that I love. It’s the most fascinating thing ever. It’s either being in front of the camera or behind the camera. If ever I become something apart from an actor, it’s definitely a director,” he had said.

He had added, “Every film I watch, I just see people perform and how it’s shot. I am enjoying being an actor but one day if I have to do something else, then I think I will get into direction.”
