Kangana Ranaut mocks Karan Johar and Aditya Chopra as Thalaivi sticks to its original release date: ‘Kyuki maa maa hoti hai’ | Bollywood Life



With theatres reopening, Bollywood announced a host of big films for theatrical release over the next months. However, with the latest surge in Covid cases, multiple films are now being postponed. But the producers of Kangana Ranaut starrer Thalaivi have put up a brave front by sticking to its original release date, that is, April 23, for all the three versions – Hindi, Tamil andd Telugu. So how could Kangana let this golden opportunity, to take a dig at Bollywood biggies like Karan Johar and Aditya Chopra, slip away from her hands. “They did everything to throw me out of the industry,ganged up, harassed me today Bollywood ke thekedaars Karan Johar and Aadiya Chopra are hiding, all big heroes are hiding but Kangana Ranaut with her team coming with 100cr budget film to save Bollywood,” Kangana tweeted following the big announcement on Thalaivi’s theatrical release. Kangana had launched the trailer of her upcoming film Thailaivi in Mumbai and Chennai on the occasion of her birthday on March 23. Winning the National Award for Manikarnika and Panga this year, launching Thalaivi Trailer and her birthday celebrations have happened one after the other, and Kangana had said, “it is a very overwhelming time for me.” Directed by AL Vijay and penned by KV Vijayendra Prasad, Thalaivi is set to release in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on April 23.

Among the most-hyped films being pushed for now is the Amitabh Bachchan-Emraan Hashmi starrer Chehre, which was scheduled to arrive on April 9. The Rani Mukerji-Saif Ali Khan starrer Bunty Aur Babli 2 will not be releasing on its scheduled date, April 23, either. The Rana Daggubati-starrer Haathi Mere Saathi (originally slated for March 26), has also been pushed for now despite its Telugu version Aranya and Tamil version Kaadan having opened on the designated date. Ram Gopal Varma‘s D Company and the Punjabi biggie Puaada, starring Ammy Virk and Sonam Bajwa, are also awaiting new release dates now.

A rough film trade estimate suggests Rs 105 crore is at stake with these projects getting delayed.
