The list of India’s most valuable celebrities is out, compiled by Duff & Phelps Celebrity Brand Valuation Study. As per the study, an star Indian cricketer has topped the list for the fourth consecutive year in a row, having trumped the likes of Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Ayushmann Khurrana, Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt and Hrithik Roshan. We’re talking about none other than the Indian cricket team captain, Virat Kohli, who also happens to be the only sportsperson among the top ten on the list, dominated by Bollywood stars. Virat Kohli’s brand value stands at a staggering $237.7 million, more than a hundred million of the nest best of the list, Akshay Kumar, whose brand is valued at $118.9 million. Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt are the only two female celebrities among the top ten, the Padmaavat actress slotting in at no. 5, with $50.4 million, and the Raazi actress just behind her with $48 million. Ranveer Singh and Shah Rukh Khan are above them in that order, with $102.9 million and $51.1 million to their names, while Ayushmann Khurrana, Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan take up the remaining spots. It’s also a testament to brand AB that after all these years he’s still rubbing shoulders with much younger celebs both in terms of his acting career and demand in other circles. Commenting on the list, Aviral Jain, Managing Director at Duff & Phelps said, “While established celebrities continue to dominate our rankings, notable millennials with a strong social media presence continue to climb the ladder. Ayushmann Khurrana, Tiger Shroff, and Rohit Sharma all jumped a few spots to grab the No. 6, No. 15 and No. 17 spots, respectively. Further, Kartik Aaryan debuts on our list at No. 20.
