How was it uniting with Parineeti after so many years? What has changed?
Arjun Kapoor: Nothing has changed actually. The best thing about uniting with Parineeti is that only time has elapsed and we are like two fools who get to interact with each other and have fun. That’s exactly what it feels like to pick up where you left off. Also Read – Arjun Kapoor once again gets slapped by Parineeti Chopra — deets inside

Any special prep you had to undergo for the role in Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar?
Arjun Kapoor: I had to undergo a lot for the prep. When Dibakar sir signed me, the first thing was to get the dialect right, and we spent three months prepping. We spent a lot of time together, talking to each other a lot, getting a dialect coach. But Dibakar sir himself worked on the dialect with me every day, coming home spending time with me, talking to me about who I am, what I am, and working on the basics with me. We also went to Delhi, I lived for three weeks. Dibakar sir made me interact with a lot of former cops and cops who are working right now. I also roamed around Manipal and lived there for a while. I had to dive deep into understanding the physicality and the aspect of that role. Also Read – Alia Bhatt birthday: Ranbir Kapoor plans a sweet surprise for the RRR actress [Exclusive]

Any references you took to get into the skin of Sandeep?
Well, Dibakar Banerjee is the most unreferenced director and the only reference I had was a man we found in Delhi. Dibakar would then tell me note and behave how he behaves. Later, he would find another person and he would want me to adopt their physicality or the way he talks. So it was an amalgamation of a lot of real people instead of a reference of another role or a film one has seen.

Was there a scene(s) that shook you up?
Yes. I don’t know how to explain this. But there is this scene where I had to take care of Parineeti. I had to help her with a wound and take care of her. This was the scene that stayed with me for long after we finished shooting for it. I can’t reveal more right now. You have to see the film to understand why I am picking this particular scene.

And on that note, can you give your fans three reason to not miss Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar?
One – It’s a Dibakar Banerjee film and it is unique and quite hard-hitting. The movie is quite realistic.
Two – To see me and Parineeti in a new dynamic completely and different from what we have done before.
Three – Lastly, it is a story that is quite relevant to Indians as both the people in the film are a part and parcel of the grind that defines India. So, if you want to see the story that hits homes, then Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar is for you.
