According to a study by World Health Organisation (WHO) and International Labour Organisation, there was a 29% increase in death in 194 countries due to excessive work pressure and long working hours. As suggested by reports, 40 hours a week is the ideal working hours and anything past that is considered to be a health hazard.

Sometimes, companies demand employees to work more to achieve more, and it is a perfectly realistic situation, but if the long working hours tend to become consistent in the workplace, it can lead to great physical and mental distress, initiating a number of health problems. Studies suggest that working 55 hours or more a week increase the chances of having a stroke by 35%. There were also a number of premature deaths due to severe mental stress caused by office-related problems and work pressure.
