Vijay Deverakonda is today one of the most popular names in the Telugu film industry. Ever since his debut film, Pelli Choopulu, hit screens, the actor has amassed a huge fan-following, that has hardly taken a setback despite his recent few outing not drawing in the box-office numbers like his earlier releases did. That being said, it seems everyone is not happy with the Arjun Reddy star. As per recent reports doing the rounds, producer-distributor Abhishek Nama, one of Tollywood’s most renowned names, is mighty upset with Vijay Deverakonda after what he has claimed to be highly irresponsible and unprofessional behaviour on the part of the actor post the debacle of World Famour Lover at the box office.
According to an article published in Tollywood.net, Abhishek Nama, who had purchased the Andhra Pradesh territory theatrical rights of World Famous Lover, has claimed that Vijay Deverakonda did not respond to any of his calls after the film failed to collect even 10% of what he had invested in it, going on to be an unmitigated box-office disaster. Deeply hurt by the actor’s behaviour, the producer-distributor added that he acted irresponsibly and switched off his phone, questioning whether if not’s upon big actors to consider a distributor’s plight after he has invested big money in their films and loses it.
Nama went on to state that any movie is completed with the hard work of producers and distributors, but the entire credit for its success goes to the hero, so the hero should also take responsibility when a film fails so miserably. Vijay Deverakonda is yet to respond to these allegations.
